Sunday Nite 242 Small Groups

242 is the name for our small group gatherings on Sunday nites and is based on Acts 2:42.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers. (HCSB)

The main idea behind our small groups is to create and strengthen relationships.

We open our time together with a game or group activity.

Then after a small snack, we have a big group lesson.  Middle schoolers and high schoolers sit together for this lesson which goes for about 15 minutes.

After the big group lesson, we divide up into our small groups.  In the small groups, our youth are interacting with what was taught in the big group, answering questions, interacting with one another and with their adult leaders, and praying with and for one another.

My hope and prayer is that during this small group time, our youth will be authentic with one another; that they will be courageous enough to share their hurts and fears; that it’ll be a time of encouragement.  And through all that, i pray that this will draw them closer to God, to our adult leaders, and to one another.
