Follow Me: A Call to Die. A Call to Live. is a DVD driven study that we will be going through over the next couple of months in 242. It’s based on the New York Times bestselling book (of the same name) written by David Platt, the former lead pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, and the current president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board.
The main question Platt addresses is: What did Jesus really mean when He said, “Follow me?” For the next few weeks, we’ll dive into this question and see what following Jesus looks like.
In Platt’s own words, “The purpose of this study…[is] to explore not only the gravity of what we must forsake in this world, but also the greatness of the One whom we follow in this world – for there is indescribable joy to be found, deep satisfaction to be felt, and an eternal purpose to be fulfilled in dying to ourselves and living in Him.”¹
Here is a quick breakdown of the study. Each week, I will post on what was covered the previous Sunday.
